Measuring is not optional!
Chemistry is the only Science that shares its name with an Industry
Temperature
The temperature control in our system is managed through the Spots. Each node of the Matrix in batch technology provides temperature readings with a resolution of about PT1000 and an error margin of +/- 0.5°C. For OnePot 1L, we get 4 readings, and for OnePot 5L, we have 21 readings. The data is collected at a rate of 5 measurements per second on each cell. During the RUN, you will be able to view the averages for the last 4 seconds, projected in the graphs and shown in the Reports. However, it's possible to download the entire set of accumulated data at the end of the reaction. Additionally, an average graph is displayed on different levels (Top and Bottom for OnePot 1L and Top, Middle and Bottom for OnePot 5L) during the Run.
We've set the standard temperature range from -20°C to +200°C. If your protocols require higher temperatures, we can customize the Spots without directly interfering with the machine. However, the limit is 350°C. To achieve temperatures below -20°C, it's necessary to customize the current jacket, allowing the use of conventional fluids for these applications.
Pressure
pH
OnePot comes equipped with a state-of-the-art pH meter from Mettler Toledo (INPRO 4800I/SG/225). It is fixed and parallel to the vertical axis, with a stem length to cover the entire extension of the vessel. This allows for continuous monitoring of the pH throughout the reaction. The pH meter can work in a range of 0-14. It is possible to reduce the range to enhance the resolution. More is possible to connect directly to this element by a Bluetooth connection and extract another observation of the average temperature in the Vessel.
Weight
The pressure transmitter, which is located inside the gas manifold and is in direct contact with the interior of the vessel, is a Type 8316 supplied by Bürkert. It is set up to provide an absolute pressure reading from 0 bar to 10 bar. The full scale is intentionally higher than the maximum pressure that can be reached inside the vessel. The reading error is +/- 0.07 bar.
The PBD769 AB15 scale supplied by Mettler Toledo has a maximum capacity of 15 kg and a precision of 0.1g, which is equivalent to 150k divisions. The plate is made of AISI304 stainless steel and provides an IP68 degree of protection, making it ideal for laboratory use. This semi-analytical balance has a reproducibility of 0.08g in reading.
Additionally, a display can be included as an accessory, which can be connected to OnePot on the right panel, allowing for independent weight control. This feature can be used to take advantage of the scale's capabilities without having to use OnePot directly.
Materials
OnePot comes with a standard vessel that is made of 316L stainless steel. However, it doesn't allow you to see the process's evolution from the inside. If you want a Pyrex model, you can request it. With this model, you will only be able to see inside if you use the adiabatic jacket, which has special slits. But using this version requires more attention from the operator to ensure safe handling of the reagents and products generated.
All reagents and products in OnePot come into contact only with PTFE, the material of which all the tubes and coverings of the pumps and valves are made, and 316L stainless steel, the material of which the Vessel, the Spot casings, the vessel closure interface, the entire OnePot body (which is Teflon-coated), and all the fluidic fittings are made of. This allows OnePot to work safely with extreme reagents or products, both strongly acidic and basic.
It should be noted that these limits are modified if you decide to operate with a Pyrex Vessel.
